The band formed in 2007 in Albany New York under the name Frieda Hammond. After a name change in early 2008 the band's lineup crystallized and has been working successfully in premiere venues throughout New York State. The band continues to impress fans and expand upon their already extensive and diverse repertoire of popular rock ranging from classic to modern alternative. The Vernacular's energy and quality performance is truly unparalleled. Recently they've raised the bar for bands in their genre by playing shows featuring 2 sets consisting of 25-30 songs, rather than the traditional 3 sets consisting of 12-15 songs with lengthy breaks where a loss of interest can occur. The Vernacular continues to refresh their set lists by satisfying requests received from fans and by carefully watching trends in radio and other popular media.
